Weeks of Action

Making your neighbourhood a cleaner, safer, healthier place to live

The Crime and Drugs Partnership have been co-ordinating the weeks of action programme across Nottingham City since 2006, with 8 weeks of action taking place in different neighbourhoods each year.

The weeks of action bring agencies together to work with communities to make a real and visible difference to some of thier priorities ina  week of focussed activity. The weeks of action have a focus upon crime, anti-social behaviour and community safety, but also look at wider than that to include work on the environment, drugs and health, children and young people, employment and training and community engagement.

The weeks of action have contributed to the decrease in Nottingham's crime figures in the past four years, and in the most recent weeks of action the focus has shifted towards community engagement and empowement, particularly in terms of the Neighbourhood Policing agenda. The weeks of action programme is now aligned to the 'Sustainable Community Strategy: the Nottingham Plan to 2020', and the activities delivered in the week will contribute towards the achievement of the overall strategic priorities for the City.

At the end of each week of action a sustainability plan is produced to ensure that the good practice from the week becomes embedded into everyday working. The plan is owned by the local agencies and will be delivered through each areas local plan.

Get Involved!

The weeks of action work better when communities get involved in the planning and implementation. If you would like to get involved in a Week of Action in your area, or suggest ways in which we can improve the programme, please contact katy.follows@nottinghamcity.gov.uk
