Prior Information Notice - Nottingham Drug Treatment System
Update - 19th October 2009: Details of the first tendering opportunity in the reconfiguration of the Nottingham drug treatment system (for the provision of the main treatment service for heroin and crack users in Nottingham City) has been delayed until further notice. Potential applicants are encouraged to keep checking the Supply2Health website for further updates.
Drug treatment services in Nottingham are changing. Our aim is to reduce drug use and the harm caused by drug use to individuals, families and communities across Nottingham, through the provision of an effective and high quality treatment system.
Over 2008/9 Nottingham CDP conducted a review of the local drug treatment system, to ensure compliance with national guidance, relevance to local need and increased effectiveness of the treatment system. Following extensive consultation with partners, stakeholders, service users and carers the review has generated a new model for the drug treatment system, which will be implemented over a three year period.
The new model for the drug treatment system is downloadable from the Nottingham CDP Website by clicking here.
Details of the first tendering opportunity, for the provision of the main treatment service for heroin and crack users in Nottingham (‘Service A’ in the new model for the drug treatment system referenced above), will be advertised by official notice early in September 2009 on the Supply2Health website, at www.supply2health.nhs.uk.
Providers interested in this or any future tendering opportunities across the Nottingham Treatment System should start by registering, creating and updating a company profile on the national NHS Supplier Information database NHSSid4Health www.pasa.nhs.uk.
NHS Nottingham City utilises the NHS Supplier Information Database (Sid4health) to manage and assess general pre-qualification information. Full details of the Pre Qualification Questionnaire evaluation criteria will be published within individual contract notices but that detail will be obtained from your NHSsid4Health profile and it is strongly recommended that you start the process of registration before the publication of the contract notice.
This notification is to forewarn suppliers of our intention to tender services only, please do not send expressions of interest in response to this notice. All future Contract notifications will be published on Supply 2 Health.
The CDP welcomes the interest of providers from across statutory, private and third sectors. Partnership working and consortia are also welcomed. Nottingham Council for Voluntary Service provides information, advice and support to third sector organisations who wish to enter into competitive tendering processes. Support and information on their services is accessible via their helpdesk on 0115 934 9548 or from http://www.nottinghamcvs.co.uk/index.htm
