Alan the Lion helps launch the Nottingham in Bloom 2009 campaign!

The CDP's Alan the Lion was the centrepiece attraction for the Nottingham in Bloom 2009 campaign launch, which took place on Thursday 9th March in the Market Square.

The specially commissioned grass lion, which has had a make-over over the winter was there along with members from Nottingham in Bloom to help give out information and advice for those with green fingers. Visitors to the exhibition were also able to get their hands on free energy saving lightbulbs as well as take part in voting in the Community Payback scheme.




The 2009 Nottingham in Bloom campaign is a city-wide initiative to get us all to look after our envrionment, and treat it with respect, and is part of the larger Britain in Bloom campaign which has been enormously successful for Nottingham, with the city winning the Champion of Champions award in 2008.
