CDP Aims & Objectives 2008-2011

Aim:

We will reduce the level and the impact of Crime and Substance Misuse in all of Nottingham’s communities.

Objectives:

  • To reduce crime, with a particular focus on violent crime, burglary, car crime and robbery
  • To reduce the fear of crime and disorder and improve feelings of safety within communities
  • To reduce anti-social behaviour
  • To tackle drug dealing and drug use in neighbourhoods across the city
  • To increase the numbers of people accessing effective drug and alcohol treatment
  • To reduce levels of re-offending
  • To reduce the harm caused to communities by problematic alcohol use
  • To support survivors of domestic violence and their children and to hold perpetrators to account
*Acquisitive crime includes burglary, car crime (theft of a vehicle and theft from a vehicle) and Robbery of personal property and business property.

Headline Targets:

  • Reduce Crime by 25%
  • Reduce ‘Serious Acquisitive Crime’ by 37%
  • Reduce ‘Assault with Injury’ (ABH) by 15.6%
  • Reduce ‘Serious Violent Crime’ by 30.5%
  • Reduce perceptions of ‘Anti-Social Behaviour’ by 7%
  • Reduce the perceptions of ‘Drug Dealing’ and ‘Drug Use’ as a problem in neighbourhoods by 10%
  • Increase the number of people in ‘Effective Drug Treatment’ by 12%
  • Reduce repeat incidents of Domestic Violence
  • Reduce rates of Re-offending
  • Reduce ‘Alcohol Related’ hospital admission rates by 11%
