Commendation

In early December, Nottingham Castle was the venue for the first Community Protection commendation event, where officers and support staff were congratulated on their bravery, customer focus and dedication to serving the people of Nottingham.
City Council Leader Councillor Jon Collins presented commemorative certificates to the winners, including a member of the Crime & Drugs Partnership
Matt Jones, a Support Analyst with the Partnership was awarded a commendation for his pioneering work to work to reduce cycle thefts in the City.
Cllr Collins presenting the commendation to Matt
Matt said he was honoured to receive the award:
"When I got the envelope and the invites fell out I thought I was just being invited to make up the numbers in the crowd. It wasn't until I read the letter that I realised I was up for an award. This came as a big surprise as I'm only a few months into the job and I'm not even a CPO. It therefore feels a great honour to have been given this award and I feel privileged to have had my work recognised after only a short time in the post."
