Park Mark™
Be on the look out for the distinctive blue ParkMark™ sign when choosing a car park in which to leave your car. The sign shows that the car park has achieved the coveted ParkMark™ status; this guarantees that the car park is a safe place to be, well maintained and lit and relatively crime free.
A ParkMark™ car park has been assessed by the Architectural Liaison Officers from Nottinghamshire Police, a team of specially trained police staff who will ensure car park operators have taken steps to deter criminal activity and create a safe environment for motorists. The Police ALO´s will have checked that the car park has appropriate levels of surveillance, lighting, signage, cleanliness and creates a safe environment for motorists.
ParkMark is the trademark of the national award scheme for car parks, which is supported by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and administered by the British Parking Association.
Recent research has shown that your vehicle will be upto 50 times safer when parked in a car park displaying the ParkMark™ sign than parked in an ordinary car park or on the street.
Always look for the ParkMark™ sign when choosing a car park.
Visit Saferparking.com to find out when more car parks in your area achieve the ParkMark award.
There are currently 12 Safer Car Parks within the City Centre or on the outskirts, and with over 40 in the County.
Details of the car parks can be found on the map of the City Centre, which you can download from this page. Several of the City Centre car parks have had no crime reported within them for over 5 years.
